#17: Go shopping

You don't want to be sat frying in the heat, wishing you'd remembered the suntan lotion. So, make a shopping list and get in some essentials: suntan lotion and sunscreen, wet wipes, toilet roll, disposable camera... that should get you started.

#18: Leave your tent untidy

As much as you might be a stickler for tidiness, leaving your tent in an unitdy mess actually discourages thieves: it takes them too much time to find everything worth stealing. Don't make it easy for them by leaving a bag in your tent with everything in it. When you go to sleep, hide all your valuables carefully and don't put everything together.

#19: Know your campsite

All campsites open at noon on Friday 15th August and then close on Monday 18th August at noon. The arena opens at noon on the Saturday and Sunday and all bands finish at 11pm. After arena closure, you can return to your tents or stay in the sections of the arena that stay open. Films will be shown all night at the JJB Champion Arena on Friday and Saturday, and some food and drink stalls will remain open.

#20: Some final no-nos

It's much better to know beforehand, so... no pets are allowed, except guide dogs for the blind and deaf - nor are candles, air horns, fireworks and anything that could be interpreted as a weapon.
