How do I set the right level of PIN protection for my home?

Press the 'Home' button on your remote control.

Select 'Settings' with the arrow keys, or press '8'.

Select 'Parental Control Settings' with the arrow keys and press '1'.

You can then restrict access to 'Games', 'Rated Programmes', 'Voting', 'Chat' and 'Mobile' services.

To change the restriction for our Movie or TV On Demand content, select 'Rated Programmes'.

You have five choices:

'Standard' - This is where a PIN will be required to view content certified as '12' before 8pm, content certified as '15 ' before 9pm and content certified as '18' before 10pm. This is the lowest setting available.

'Cert 18' - This option requires a PIN to view ' 12 ' content before 8pm, ' 15 ' content before 9pm and ' 18 ' at all times.

'Cert 15' - This option requires a PIN to purchase or view ' 12 ' content before 8pm and both ' 15 ' and ' 18 ' content at all times.

'Cert 12' - This option requires a PIN to purchase or view ' 12 ‘, ' 15 ' and ' 18 ' content at all times.

'Maximum' - This option requires a PIN to purchase or view all rated programmes.

How do I change my PIN?

Press the 'Home' button on your remote control.

Select 'Settings' with the arrow keys or press '8'.

Then select 'Change Your PIN' with the arrow keys or press '2'.

Please note that you’ll need to know what your PIN is currently to change it.

If you don’t know or have forgotten your PIN, please ring the customer care number on your bill or press 'Home' on your remote control, select option '9' for 'Help & info' then option '6' and 'How to contact us'.

Remember, it’s important not to give your PIN to your children as it will allow them to access and purchase content that might not be suitable for them.

How do I “lock” channels, or block adult-themed ones?

Not all our customers, especially in homes where there are children, will want access to all the channels available on Virgin TV.

Therefore, we’ve made it possible to 'lock' any channel from being accessed without entering your PIN first.

To lock a channel;

Press the 'Home' button on your remote control.

Select 'Settings' with the arrow keys or press '8'.p>Then select 'Set Locked Channels' with the arrow keys, or press '3'.

You can then select the channels that you want to lock. Once selected, these channels will only be accessible by using your PIN.

Hiding Adult channels from the TV guide

You can do this the same way as locking channels. If you’d rather Adult channels weren’t listed on the TV Guide, you can hide them by pressing the yellow button on your remote control when in the 'Set Locked Channels' section of the 'Settings' menu.
