In one of the most shocking tech stories of the decade, a new survey has revealed that Apple fans spend multiple hours perusing pornography on their iPhone 3GS handsets.

 

Yes, unbelievable as it may seem, it's true.

 

While the iPhone may be up against some very stiff competition from rivals like the HTC Hero, the study by shopping site Retrevo shows that 3GS owners are well accustomed to the hard task of operating their gadget.

And while the iPhone's great strength lies in its multiple apps, it seems that other multiples may be on the mind of 20 per cent of sex-starved Apple fanboys out there, who're using sites like PornHub.com (or so we're told) to get their daily kicks.

 

The move shows good inititaive from iPhone users who've been left frustrated by their inability to access Flash-based sites like YouPorn because of Apple's refusal to embrace the Adobe Flash Player streaming software. One also assumes that a good deal of smut is transferred directly onto the hard-drive, or even filmed homemade using the iPhone's 3GS' new camcorder functionality?

 

Other interesting tidbits unearthed by Retrevo's quizzing of 445 iPhone and BlackBerrry owners reveal that 35 per cent would find a partner with an out-of-date piece of tech a massive turn-off and that 33 per cent have used text message or emails to break up with someone. How rude.
