Coronation Street's Tyrone Dobbs to be jailed for kidnapping Ruby
Coronation Street's Tyrone Dobbs is to be jailed for kidnapping his daughter Ruby.
The hapless mechanic - who is portrayed by Alan Halsall - and his lover Fiz Stape (Jennie McAlpine) will get caught trying to take his and evil former fiancee Kirsty Soames' (Natalie Gumede) baby overseas after she wrongly accused him of beating her up.
Following Tyrone's arrest he is sent to prison and refuses to allow Fiz to visit him, insisting to the police that he acted alone when trying to kidnap Ruby.
Jennie said: ''Tyrone and Fiz played right into Kirsty's hands by running away - and now they're paying a high price.
''They broke the law by taking Ruby without Kirsty's permission, so Tyrone looks more guilty than ever - which is exactly what Fiz always feared would happen.
''Kirsty has been acting cool throughout the whole thing, and Fiz is anything but. She's so worried about what's going to happen, and can't believe it when Ty won't see her once he's in jail.''
Fiz will be left powerless to help Tyrone - who has suffered months of physical abuse from Kirsty - after he refuses to see her in prison, but she still tries to convince Kirsty's supporters that Tyrone is in the innocent party.
Jennie added to Inside Soap magazine: ''When the police find them, Fiz is partly relieved - but of course, she's also really worried about what's going to happen next.
''She thought they'd get caught eventually but it's happened sooner rather than later. When Tyrone tries to get Fiz off the hook, she feels sad, because she did agree to go along with his plan.
''But because he had his heart set on doing whatever Fiz decided, he wants to take sole responsibility.
''That's Tyrone through and through - he's selfless. So while poor Tyrone waits to find out what's going to happen next, all Fiz can do now is try to convince Kirsty's supporters that Tyrone's not the bad guy in all of this.''
Meanwhile, Katy (Georgia May Foote) is worried her boyfriend Chesney (Sam Aston) is getting too involved after he turns up to the B&B in Wales, where the pair are hiding out, with passports and cash for Tyrone and his sister.
He tries to convince Tyrone and Fiz to stop their plan, but the police eventually swoop in on them at the hotel.06-02-2013
