'Cheesy dad' Nick Lachey

Nick Lachey is in ''cheesy dad mode'' following the birth of his son.

The singer and his wife Vanessa welcomed their baby boy, Camden John, into the world last week and he admits he is truly smitten with the tot.

He tweeted: ''Officially in cheesy dad mode. Camden is easily the most amazing thing that has happened in my life. @VanessaLachey and I are truly blessed! (sic)''

The couple - who married last year - announced Camden's birth last Wednesday (12.09.12) and they spoke of their joy at becoming first-time parents.

They said: ''We are incredibly proud to announce the birth of our beautiful baby boy, Camden John Lachey.

''Born today at 6:54 p.m., he came into this world at 8 lbs., 9 oz. and 21 inches. Love has truly been redefined for both of us.''

Vanessa previously admitted she was hoping the baby would be a boy because she loved the idea of a ''mini'' version of her 38-year-old husband.

She said: ''It's going great, knock on wood! I'm feeling awesome and no morning sickness, no crazy cravings.

''I've always envisioned a little boy first. Maybe because when I fell in love with Nick - the man of my dreams and the father of my children - I could easily imagine falling in love with the mini-him; that's how I see it.''
