Tuffers gets robbed!

VM: Did you just play on the one table?

PT: "Yeah, I like to build up some banter with the other players! I picked a table with five or six people already playing, and with a $5 per bet limit, to stop me getting carried away."

VM: How did the 'virtual poker table' work for you?

PT: "Very well actually. You can sit and watch for a while, weigh up the level of your opponents, whether they're nutters, sharks, hustlers or idiots!

Then, once you've started you can have a bit of banter with your opponents as you play - obviously myself and 'Pickar*e' exchanged some words - and the rounds keep up a fairly good pace with the time limits for each hand. The only thing I would say is that it could make a bit more of a fuss when you win a hand - I need some extra encouragement sometimes."

VM: Can you pull off the old Tuffers Bluff effectively?

PT: "Very effectively, because normally when I have a good hand I'm grinning like a Cheshire cat! So, there's some filthy bluffing to be done, just as long as you don't try to bluff every round."

VM: Do you have any advice for anyone else who'd like to give it a try for the first time?

PT: "As long as you know the basic rules, you can have some great fun. Choose a table with a low limit on each bet and set yourself a certain amount of money you have to play with, then make sure you stop when it's all gone.

I'm no poker master but I played for an hour or two and won a few rounds. If I hadn't got too cocky at the end I probably could've walked away $100 up."

VM: So, in summary...

PT: "A great way to kill some spare time with a mate or two and a couple of beers. And you can have some fun with poker without losing your mortgage!"

VM: Better than playing celeb poker on the telly?

PT: "Definitely...I win sometimes online!"

VM: And any final words for 'Pickar*e'?

PT: "I'll be claiming personal injury damages...I nearly fell off my chair when he came out with that hand!"
