Derby County are the latest in a string of top clubs to announce they're under new ownership. But whereas in the past it would have a local boy made good, these days it's foreign owners making the headlines - and often for the wrong reasons. Americans have been making many of the big moves recently and they'll be hoisting the Stars and Stripes over Pride Park too, with the news that U.S.-based General Sports and Entertainment (GSE) have inked a deal to assume control. Adam Pearson will remain as chairman, but he'll be joined in the boardroom by GSE's top man Andy Appleby. Fans will be praying for a Villa-style renaissance with a white knight prepared to wipe the slate clear of debt and make new money available no strings attached. Appleby said: "We are excited about the opportunity to make a significant impact and are impressed with the club's incredible potential."
