This year's Beijing Olympic Games are nearly upon us and London is getting ready to hoist the torch in 2012. In the run-up to both, the British nation has chosen our greatest ever Olympians to create an all-time podium of sportsmen and women.
The stellar roll call was the result of a poll, commissioned by the National Lottery, and the results will in turn help fund both the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The new 'Olympic Champions' Scratchcards will spotlight classic moments featuring the members of the celebrated sextet, all drawn from the annals of the Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games, and money raised will be put back into 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games funding.
