"What a great race that was! I was watching from my boat in the harbour so I didn’t have quite as much information as everybody else watching on TV but we knew what was going on. "Apart from clipping the wall on the sixth lap, Lewis didn’t make a mistake but that mistake won him the race to an extent because when the pace car came out, he regained all the time he lost and the new strategy he was on was perfect. "Lewis said it was his best victory but I think he knows it wasn’t his best drive. You don’t hit the wall and say it was your best drive. He had to do the job and he had to do the lap times, which he did well with more fuel on board. But hitting a wall and taking a tyre off should have been the end of his race."
