
2001 looked as though it could be Tim Henman's year when he reached the Wimbledon semi-finals for the third time to face wild card Goran Ivanisevic. Instead of being thwarted by the tournament favourite, this time it was the British weather that upset the Brit's advantage. Rain forced the match to run into a second day and with his momentum gone and the Croat resurgent, Henman capitulated.
