Is smart too stuffy for 2007?

The days of newsreaders wearing dinner suits to present the evening news have long passed. The Daily Mail has criticised BBC reporters who wear jeans and look like they have, 'just stepped off a beach'. This criticism comes soon after BBC viewers complained that presenter Emily Maitlis' skirt was too short for the Ten o'Clock news. Does formal clothing matter in 2007? Have your say.
