Tony got in the way of his own hitman
Among his many challenges he finds himself dealing with an FBI informant within the ranks, his family breaking down, having to put his daughter into college, attempts on his own life from within his own family, bereavement, domestic violence and heartbreak. Not much on his plate then.
Tony’s got plenty of the little grey cells but unfortunately he’s also prone to acts of stomach-turning violence and ice-cold calculation. Gandolfini's portrayal of him has wowed critics and audiences alike and his turn is complemented by some amazing character acting (including big-screen names like Steve Buscemi and Joe Pantioliano), and the kind of writing and plotting which puts most series' to shame.
"It's about to leave a gaping hole in the watching habits of an army of fans."
With six astonishing seasons under their belt, a mantlepiece groaning under the weight of a bunch of Emmy awards and the grand finale looming on the horizon for UK devotees, it's about to leave a gaping hole in the television watching habits of an army of fans of such small screen magic.
