The Closer

The American cop show with a woman’s touch, The Closer follows Deputy Police Chief Brenda Johnson, played by Kyra Sedgwick, as a super sleuth with a Southern touch who heads up a high-profile homicide unit in Los Angeles.

Brenda is promoted to lead the team because she is a world-class interrogator, and when it comes to obtaining confessions, she is a closer. But her hard-nosed approach to her job sometimes rubs her colleagues the wrong way, as does the fact that she is a tough-minded Southern woman in a department dominated by men.

The multi-award winning show has made a star of Sedgwick, who was previously better know as Kevin Bacon’s missus.

Season one of The Closer starts on Virgin Central on 20th February and kicks off with Brenda investigating a murder of an unidentified woman found at a high-profile executive's home. However, she finds herself faced with more than just a murder investigation on her hands as she must deal with the resentment of her new co-workers...
