A wickedly entertaining romp it may be, but The Tudors is about as faithful to history as Henry is to his wives. It's time to go all David Starkey and point out 10 of the most shamelessly made-up bits of the show, beginning with the king himself.
Henry VIII was many things – a hottie not being one of them. At least, not when he got older, when the once-athletic monarch became a bloated whale of a man. And how does the show depict this monstrous transformation? By having the luminously beautiful Jonathan Rhys Meyers go a bit grey. (On that note: the real Henry also happened to be pretty much bald by that time. Just sayin'.)
