“I could have strangled Nick”

Human Resource Consultant, Paula Jones has become the fourth person to be fired by Sir Alan Sugar.

We caught up with The Apprentice’s self-confessed scatter brain for an exclusive interview to uncover who was to blame for what…

Did Sir Alan make the right decision?
I can see why he did it, but personally I think he should have chosen Ben. But then again, there are a lot of characters in the show that should have gone before me.

Would you like to name names?
Well I definitely think Noorul should go next. His attempt at team management wasn’t particularly inspiring.

Should Nick have pointed out the sandalwood mix up earlier?
I could have gladly jumped over the table and strangled Nick. It’s TV gold though isn’t it. Of course they weren’t going to tell us that we’d made such a monumental mistake. It was awful.

Was that your only failure in this task?
I would say that if it was anything to do with me, it was because I didn’t micro-manage the two people I had delegated to look after the costs… The product was fantastic, which was entirely down to me, I couldn’t do everything.

Did you feel betrayed by Yasmina in the boardroom?
I can appreciate why she did what she did, but I don’t know why she didn’t say Ben. I think she’s got a ruthless streak. I was a bit disappointed because we had been friends.

Why didn’t you stick up for yourself more?
I think I stuck up for myself quite well. I wasn’t going to stand there and beg him to keep me in the show. He didn’t give me a hard time in the boardroom at all, so I didn’t see it coming.

Why do you think Sir Alan gave Ben another chance?
Probably because Ben’s very good television. He’s ridiculously passionate about getting the job. So much so, he’s becoming quite a bully. He’s unnecessarily aggressive towards anybody who crosses his path.

What did you think of the other team’s performance?
Diabolical. It wasn’t so much their win as it was our loss.

What are you plans now?
I’ve got a couple of businesses ready to run. One is an online shop selling interior décor items. It’s only going to stock 20 things and it’s called A Few Of My Favourite Things. I’m also retraining in interior design.

Who do you think will win the series?
James or Yasmina.
