Seconds out, round two

This weekend’s NatWest 6 Nations features a proper heavyweight clash between two of rugby’s fiercest foes

The two most successful teams in the tournament’s history face off in a blockbuster at Twickenham

Live NatWest 6 Nations Rugby Union: England v Wales, Saturday 10 February, 4.20pm, ITV/HD (CH 103/113)

Hands up if you’re ready to have your nerves shredded by an exhilarating 80-minute rugby rollercoaster. If you’ve just thrust your arms skywards, then you’re in luck, because it’s time for one of the biggest fixtures in the NatWest 6 Nations – England versus Wales.

Both teams triumphed emphatically in their opening games of the tournament, but having won last year’s competition and five of the last six matches between these two sporting behemoths, hosts England go into the clash as favourites.

Add in the fierce rugby rivalry between this pair of proud nations, the number of British Lions on the pitch, and the fact that four of the last five matches between these teams have been won by five points or less, and you have all the ingredients necessary for a monumental encounter for the ages.

But that’s not all you can look forward to this weekend. Elsewhere, Ireland will be looking to significantly improve their points differential with a big win against Italy in Dublin, and Scotland will be hoping to provide further evidence of their resurgence when they welcome France to the cauldron that is Murrayfield.
