“We’re exploring human nature”

Host Laura Whitmore talks Survival Of The Fittest, the hot new reality show from the makers of Love Island

Love Island gave us all a reason to live last year. If you’ve been hopelessly lost since it came to an end, prepare to be found with this absolutely fabulous new show

Survival Of The Fittest, daily from Sunday 11 February, 9pm, ITV2/HD (CH 115/176). Also available for 7 days in Catch Up > Channels > ITV Hub

If The Crystal Maze and Love Island did a face swap, it would look something like this. A group of singletons jet out to the South African savannah. There, they compete in a series of physical and mental challenges in a battle of the sexes, with the hope of winning a big cash prize as the pay-off.

But it doesn’t end there. Along the way, these devilishly good-looking folk will be going on dates and getting to know each other, intimately.  Attraction offers the perfect opportunity for distraction on this show. Will the contestants be able to concentrate on the tasks, or will they get led astray?

Just like Love Island, this isn’t so much a show as a whirlwind love affair that will take over your every waking moment until it suddenly ends and you’re left a little bit lost and sad… but satisfied. Just like Love Island, it’s on every night at 9pm on ITV2, and you’ll be able to vote for your favourites via an app. Unlike Love Island, it’s presented by Laura Whitmore – the former host of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! NOW! and Strictly 2016 contestant – who also happens to be in a relationship with Love Island narrator Iain Stirling. OMG, that’s just SO like Love Island

We sit down with Whitmore to get the dirty on this smoking hot new show…
