There are quite a few ways for you to get stuck into discussions, have a good old natter and make friends on
Your Space. Whether it's on the unregistered Soundbites comment boards or the registered discussion forums, we welcome lively debate on all sorts of topics.
However, as a content provider, it falls upon us to make sure that this content is appropriate, and we take the view that some of the more 'iffy' topics require a higher degree of editorial integrity. For this reason, we moderate our user-generated content in two different ways.
Reactive moderationComments made on the majority of our Soundbites discussions are published to the board within 10 minutes. While this helps you to express yourself easily, it also means that we rely on you as users to be vigilant and report content to us that you feel is inappropriate.
Our trusty moderators will remove any posts or profiles that don’t follow our
house rules or
Terms and Conditions as soon as they are made aware of them, and persistent offenders may face further action.
Registered forums and profiles are also moderated in this way.
Pre-moderationFrom time to time you may notice a Soundbites comment board change from reactive moderation to pre-moderation. This means that any posts made to this board will have to be approved by a moderator before they are published. Posts that don't follow the rules will be blocked and will not appear.
We do this with boards where we notice a high level of inappropriate content or disruptive behaviour, in order to ensure that the Soundbites boards remain an enjoyable experience for everyone concerned.
We will always make it clear that a board has been changed in this way.
