From telly to tablet: Virgin TV Anywhere gets 15 new channels

2nd October 2014

  • New news, music, gaming and entertainment channels now available
  • 40 more channels than Sky available to watch on the go
  • Two more major entertainment channels to arrive next month

Virgin Media has added another 15 live channels to its award winning1 mobile TV service, Virgin TV Anywhere, bringing the total number of channels available for customers to watch on the go to 107. The arrival of the new channels means Virgin TV customers can enjoy over 402 more channels than Sky Go users on smartphones, tablets and computers.

The latest additions to Virgin Media’s on the go line-up include news, entertainment, music and gaming channels from around the world, such as Al Jazeera, France 24, ARY News, B4U Music, Ginx and Lahme3. A further two major entertainment channels will also join the service next month.

The new channels join the existing collection of entertainment, sport, news, children’s, documentary and music channels already available on Virgin TV Anywhere4.

Scott Kewley, Virgin Media’s Director of Digital Entertainment, said: “The new channels we’ve added will enable customers to keep up with the news from around the world, ramp up the suspense with an exciting drama or listen to the latest music on the go. Their arrival means we’ve more than doubled the amount of channels available on the go to our TV customers since the service launched two years ago, further extending our lead as the provider of the most comprehensive entertainment-anywhere service in the UK.”

Virgin Media has added 45 live channels online and 65 to the app since Virgin TV Anywhere launched in November 2012, with two more channels still to come next month.

Virgin TV customers can watch their favourite programmes around the home and while out and about at no extra cost on smartphones, tablets and computers using Virgin TV Anywhere and the Sky Movies and Sky Sports apps.

Virgin TV customers can access Virgin TV Anywhere online or, if they have Virgin Media TiVo®, through a mobile and tablet app on iOS and Android devices4.
