Virgin Media launches new campaign; all the football, all the fans, all through Virgin Fibre

Bringing to life the unparalleled football offering its customers enjoy through ultrafast connectivity

Virgin Media has today launched a major new campaign that brings to life the unparalleled football offering that its customers enjoy through superior, ultrafast connectivity.  

The multi-million pound campaign will run over 11 weeks across TV, VOD, social, radio and OOH with the TV ad launching on Sunday 16 July during the British Grand Prix, on Channel 4, at 14:50.

The campaign, created by BBH London, continues to celebrate the uniqueness of Virgin Media’s cables, this time delivering the best football experience of ‘All The Football’ to the living room.

Set to the soundtrack by Kasabian, the film focuses on a boy’s experience of a football match, underpinned by All the Football moments, replicating the match day experience. With his Dad, he travels down a gigantic, futuristic fibre cable navigating his way alongside the crowds of from multiple football teams, of all ages and backgrounds, including one particular famous football fan, Usain Bolt. The film features a real-life father and son team of Peter and Josh Scorer.

As the boy leaves the tunnel, he steps out as the club mascot inside St. Mary’s Stadium alongside Southampton FC footballers, where Virgin Media is the official sponsor.  It ends with the line: ‘Every match on Sky Sports and BT Sport. This is football from Virgin Media.’

The film was shot by award-winning director Mark Jenkinson through Rogue Films.  An epic production, it was shot in a bespoke tunnel in Budapest spanning 200ft.  Media activity was planned and bought by Manning Gottlieb OMD.
