The ultimate Destiny fan has been found and crowned after finalists went head-to-head in a three-way battle to win a once-in-a-lifetime trip to visit Bungie in Seattle, USA.

In August, as part of the launch of Destiny 2: Forsaken, Virgin Media and Activision teamed up to launch a UK-wide competition to find Destiny’s biggest fans.

More than 5,000 people entered the contest with the final round featuring just three finalists who competed in a Destiny-themed quiz to win the much-desired and all-inclusive trip to the US. The finalists were tested on their Destiny knowledge and whether they knew their Aksis from their Aksor and their Vex villains from their Hive gods.

Each finalist had 90 seconds to answer as many questions as possible, put to them by leading Destiny YouTuber, Arekkz. Scott Thomson came out on top, answering an impressive 12 questions correctly in the allocated timeframe. Previous rounds had seen Scott take an online quiz and submit a short video explaining why he should be crowned the ultimate Destiny fan.

Scott will head out to Seattle before the end of the year where he will be joined by a guest of his choice. The pair will receive a tour of Bungie by Destiny's Community Director David "Deej" Dague and will see, first-hand, how the popular Destiny franchise was developed.

Arekkz and Virgin Media will be joining the pair to document their experience at Bungie. Destiny fans can stay updated on Virgin Media’s social media platforms as well as Arekkz’s YouTube channel

Sharon Hegarty, Director of Brand and Marketing at Virgin media, said: “Virgin Media’s hunt for the ultimate Destiny fan has concluded and we’ve found our Last Guardian Standing. We were inundated with entrants and we appreciate everyone who shared their Destiny story, passion and knowledge with us. Congratulations to Scott who I know is going to love this once-in-a-lifetime experience of visiting Bungie’s incredible HQ in Seattle.”
