This page applies to anyone that has not updated their Virgin Mobile pay monthly plan since July 2010. If you still have a plan from 2010, this page will outline your current costs for calls and texts within the UK and abroad.

If you have not updated your mobile contract since 21st July 2010, the costs for making calls and using data with your Virgin Mobile will be different from our updated plan holders. To help you understand exactly how much it will cost you, we’ve out together this guide.

Calls to Virgin Media Directory Enquiries (118180) - Calls to this number outside your allowance will be charged at £1.50 per minute pls 58p per minute access charge
Freephone numbers (beginning 08) - Free
Texts to all UK network mobiles (2) - 15p per text
Minimum Call Charge - A one-minute minimum charge per call applies
Access Charge - 58p per minute access charge for calls to service numbers that begin 084/ 087/ 09/ 118.
Call rates will always stay the same and there is no difference in cost between making calls during peak or off-peak times. Each call has a minimum cost, after which calls are billed per minute and charges are rounded up to the nearest penny. This, however, excludes calls to landlines and service numbers outside of your allowance.
Freephone calls starting “0800” or “0808” are now free to call from Virgin mobiles, as well as calls to numbers starting “0500”. Calls to 070 numbers will cost 75p per minute in the UK.
Calling charges for numbers beginning “084”, “087”, “09”, “118” are formed of both an access charge and a service charge. Access charge is set at a standard 58p, while the service charge will depend on the company you are calling. Services charges will be advertised by the company you are contacting. However, company phone numbers included in your bundle are free to call.
The following information shows you additional costs included in your Virgin Mobile plan.
Mobile data is measured in Kilobytes (KB), Megabytes (MB) and Gigabytes (GB). A MB is 1024 KB, and a GB is roughly 1024 MB. Your data usage will be rounded up to the nearest 1KB. If your plan includes a data allowance, you will be charged for any extra data you use once you have used up your total allowance.
The cost of sending an MMS is 50p per message. However, if your handset settings are incorrect, you may be charged the daily rate for data (33 per GB per day) if you do not have a data allowance. Click here to find out more about costs for SMS and picture messaging.

European Union and The Republic of Ireland - 19p per minute
Calls to below countries - £1.20 per minute:
Albania, Andorra, Armenia, Australia, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Canada, China, Dominican Republic, Faroe Islands, Hong Kong, Japan, Macedonia, Malaysia, Moldova, Montenegro, New Zealand, Puerto Rico, San Marino, Serbia, Singapore, South Korea, Switzerland, Taiwan, Turkey.
Rest of the World - £1.50
Calls from a Virgin Mobile are billed per minute and charges are rounded up to the nearest penny. A minimum call charge of one minute applies to every call made.

(1) Call to landlines covers calls to numbers beginning “01”, “02” and “03” as well as calls to Guernsey, Jersey and Isle of Man.
(2) Many phones can send texts up to three times as long as normal. Long texts from Virgin Mobiles will be delivered as separate messages and you will be charged for each of these texts.
Call forwarding services – which includes numbers beginning with “07744” and “07755” – are not included. Excludes calls and texts to Guernsey, Jersey and the Isle of Man mobiles. Currently excludes calls to Truphone, Mundio, HAY Systems, TG Support and Cable & Wireless.
(3) Calls and texts to mobiles in Channel Islands and Isle of Man are out of allowance.
A Virgin Mobile pay monthly SIM is a contract that includes a SIM with set allowances from calls, texts and data. Regular monthly payments will cover your agreed upon allowance as outlined in your contract. This type of plan differs from pay-as-you-go SIMs where you can top up your allowance at any time rather than paying monthly.
In the event that you continue to make calls and texts after you have used up your monthly allowance, you may be charged additional costs which will be added to your next bill.
