This is a tail of friendship, jealousy and desire. The Secret Life Of Pets is an emotional rollercoaster, with our hero – a Jack Russell named Max – going on an epic journey of self-discovery. Think Toy Story meets Beethoven
The Secret Life Of Pets available in Sky Cinema on demand. Cert PG. Also available in HD
At the start of the movie, Max’s life is pretty swell. He lives in a trendy Manhattan apartment with his beloved owner, Katie (Ellie Kemper, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt). While Katie’s at work, Max hangs out with his mates – Chloe the cat, Mel the pug, Buddy the dachshund and Sweetpea the budgie. But then one day, disaster strikes. Katie brings home Duke, an imposing mongrel she’s adopted from the pound, and Max’s world is thrown into a state of flux. Will things ever be the same again?
This film answers all the questions you may have ever had about what your pets get up to when you’re not looking. As it turns out, they have more complicated social lives than we do – let’s call it petworking. With an all-star voice cast, including Steve Coogan (I’m Alan Partridge) as a hairless Sphynx cat, plus an irresistible soundtrack, this is the ideal film to round off any summer’s day.
