After Southampton thrashed them the last time they met, Everton are looking to get their own back…
Everton v Southampton, Saturday 5 May, 5pm, BT Sport 1/HD (CH 531/527)
Roll up! Roll up! If this season’s previous encounter is anything to go by, you should expect goals, goals and more goals when Everton and Southampton square off in the Premier League, exclusively live on BT Sport.
The Saints earned an emphatic 4-1 win over the Toffees back in November, with two goals from Charlie Austin helping the hosts cruise to a comfortable victory at St Mary’s Stadium. But are the Toffees about to get some sweet revenge at their own ground?
They’ll need to address their chronic inconsistency if they are. Despite possessing some dazzling top-flight talent (including Gylfi Sigurdsson, Theo Walcott and Yannick Bolasie), the Merseysiders have seen results improve only slightly since manager Sam Allardyce strutted into Goodison Park like some kind of Black Country John Travolta at the end of 2017.
Meanwhile, Southampton will be keen to find some consistency of their own as they head towards what’s set to be a fascinating Premier League run-in. Another thumping triumph over Everton would be just the tonic for Mark Hughes and his players, who will finish their campaign with games against Swansea City and Manchester City.
So can the south coast side coast to another three points? Or will they come unstuck against a talented but flawed Everton? Find out by tuning into BT Sport for all of the unmissable action. And if you want to get even closer, check out the video below as we went behind the scenes at Southampton FC for an exclusive tour of their Staplewood Campus Training Ground.
