It’s been a long time coming, but two of boxing’s most colourful characters are here to deliver another cracker
Tony Bellew v David Haye II, Saturday 5 May, 6pm, Sky Sports Box Office. £19.95 for SD, £20.95 for HD. Booking now open
The wait is (almost) over! Tony Bellew and David Haye are all geared up for a rematch of earth-shaking proportions, exclusively live on Sky Sports Box Office.
Their first gripping encounter in March 2017 was a drama-filled affair, with underdog Bellew stopping an injured Haye in the 11th round at a packed O2 Arena. They were meant to square off for a second time in December, but the bout was postponed after Haye was forced to undergo biceps surgery.
Good things come to those who wait, however, and now these warriors – who have exchanged plenty of bitter words in the build-up – are primed and ready for another explosive scrap in London.
Bellew has promised to “punish” his opponent, while Haye has claimed this match will eclipse the excitement of their previous duel. What’s more, former world heavyweight champion Haye has suggested that this could be his last fight if he fails to put in a headline-grabbing performance…
But this hugely anticipated rematch isn’t all you can look forward to on Sky Sports Box Office. Paul Butler will meet Emmanuel Rodríguez for the vacant IBF world bantamweight championship, while Martin Joseph Ward and James Tennyson will battle it out for the European and WBA international super featherweight belts. There’s also a tasty all-British super middleweight showdown between John Ryder and Jamie Cox, and Joe Joyce will be involved in his first ever title fight when he clashes with defending Commonwealth heavyweight champion Lenroy Thomas.
