Your guide to the Dutch MotoGP™ and beyond

Here’s everything you need to know about this weekend’s race – and the rest of the season

With the championship beginning to take shape, there’s still plenty of points up for grabs as the campaign nears the halfway stage

Motul TT Assen, Sunday 1 July, 1pm, BT Sport 2/HD (CH 532/528)

After a two-week break, the world’s fastest men on two wheels return to the Netherlands’ Assen Circuit, “The Cathedral” of speed, which is every bit as fast as it is tight and twisting.

While we’re still seven races away from the main event at the time of writing, MotoGP fans the world over can be sure of at least a few things: Marc Márquez will continue to flex his podium-climbing prowess; Valentino Rossi will likely once again prove that age is just a number; and Cal Crutchlow’s performance will feature more peaks and troughs than a mountain range.

Unsurprisingly, Spain’s Márquez tops the standings, and as a result, looks set to win his fifth MotoGP crown (and fifth overall). But, as ever, the diligent, nine-time champion that is Valentino Rossi is hot on Márquez’s tailpipe.

Regardless of who takes the chequered flag in Assen, with a whopping 11 races still to go between now and the season’s end in November, anything can happen. So make sure you catch every twist, turn and heart-pounding overtake live on BT Sport 2 on Virgin TV.
