See how showbiz the Taskmaster host really is, as we ready our bellies for more laughs in series six

If you’ve ever wondered if the mountainous Taskmaster ever Googles himself, wonder no more...

Taskmaster series 6, Wednesdays from 2 May, 9pm, Dave/HD (CH 127/194). Also available for 7 days in Catch Up > Channels > Dave

Words can’t describe how much we love Taskmaster. If you’ve watched any of the previous series, you don’t need us to tell you why. If you haven’t, well, where have you been?

The concept is simple. The omnipotent Taskmasker Greg Davies (The Inbetweeners), along with his loyal assistant Alex Horne (who, it should be said, actually created the show), sets a bunch of celebrity contestants some baffling, bonkers and brilliantly entertaining challenges.

We don’t want to ruin the surprise of what those tasks are, which is all the more reason to unearth previous episodes by searching on your box or checking out UKTV’s specially curated YouTube playlist! Taskmaster is endlessly watchable fun – so much so, in fact, that it’s been nominated in the Comedy Entertainment Programme category at the upcoming Virgin TV British Academy Television Awards on 13 May.

Behold! The celebrity contestants for Taskmaster series 6!

So who is up to the tasks this series? From left to right in the image above, we have Asim Chaudhry (People Just Do Nothing), BBC Radio 1’s Alice Levine, Liza Tarbuck (Upstart Crow) and stand-up stars Russell Howard and Tim Vine. So who will lift Greg’s head? Ahem, that’s the trophy, by the way. Well, not his actual head. A hollowed-out replica. Oh, now it’s got weird… Just read the interview, OK?
