Joining Virgin Media and keeping your number

Switching to Virgin Media has never been so easy, so follow these simple steps.

1.     Grab a Porting Authorisation Code (PAC) from your current provider by either:

  • Texting PAC to 65075
  • Go to your existing provider’s website and follow the links to Switching
  • Call your existing provider

2.     When you buy your new mobile phone contract or SIM from us, we’ll ask you if you want to switch then, and that’s when you can give us your PAC.

3.     Once you get your new SIM, the switch process starts as soon as you put it in your mobile. See the table for how long it should take.

4.     Remember that until the switch goes through, your current provider’s service will still be active, which means you can still be charged.

And don’t forget, you can always provide us with a switching PAC later, and choose a switching date that suits you.

Just joined but forgot to tell us you want to keep your number?

Whether you’ve forgot to tell us your PAC or if you’ve just decided you’d like to keep your old number, we can still help to switch your number across. Just follow these easy steps.

  • Texting PAC and your date of birth (DDMMYYY) from your old SIM to 65075.
    For example, PAC 20051989
  • Go to your existing provider’s website and follow the links to Switching
  • Call your existing provider

2.     Sign in to Your Account, or register if you’ve not done so already, and click on ‘Switching’.

3.     Click on ‘Use PAC’ and enter your PAC details.

4.     Once you’ve submitted your PAC request, the switch process will start. Check the table below for how long it should take.

Remember that until the switch goes through, your old provider’s service may still be active, which means you can still be charged.
