How do I change the Hub's WiFi name and password?

To protect the Hub from being accessed wirelessly by someone unauthorised, you may wish to change your WiFi network name or password. To do this, follow the steps below.

What Hub do you have?

Hub 3

To protect the Hub 3 from being accessed wirelessly by someone unauthorised, you may wish to change your WiFi network name or password.

To do this, follow the steps below or download our handy Virgin Media Connect app to take control of your WiFi and change your password.

Hub 3

To protect the Hub 3 from being accessed wirelessly by someone unauthorised, you may wish to change your WiFi network name or password.

To do this, follow the steps below or download our handy Virgin Media Connect app to take control of your WiFi and change your password.

Changing the WiFi network name or password

Please follow the below steps:

Enter 192.168.0.1 into the address bar of your browser

Once signed in select Configure your WiFi connection

Select > Change next to your current WiFi network password or name

Enter a new password or name, then select Apply changes and close the window*

Restart your computers and devices and try to reconnect to the Hub 3, and you should be prompted for the new password.

 

Once all computers and devices are reconnected to the WiFi network, you can disconnect the Ethernet cable from the computer.

*All computers and devices that were wirelessly connected to the Hub 3 will now be disconnected, because they will still be configured with the old WiFi network name and password. Any devices connected via Ethernet will not be affected.

 

Note: If you ever forget your new password, you can set it back to the default by resetting the Hub (this will also reset all other changes you have made to the Hub 3 settings). After resetting the Hub, follow the instructions above to update your username or password again.

 

Super Hub 1, 2 or 2ac

The best way to do this is by connecting your computer to the Super Hub using an Ethernet cable.

Changing the WiFi network name or password

Please follow the below steps:

Enter 192.168.0.1 into the address bar of your browser

Once signed in select Wireless Network Settings

Enter a new password or name. There are separate options for the 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz WiFi networks.

Select Apply changes and close the window*

Restart your computers and devices and try to reconnect to the Super Hub, and you should be prompted for the new password.

 

Once all computers and devices are reconnected to the WiFi network, you can disconnect the Ethernet cable from the computer.
