How do I update my Virgin Media email security settings?
Keeping you safe online is important to us, so we’re making some changes to improve the security of Virgin Media Mail.
These improvements are for customers who have an email address that ends in @ntlworld.com, @blueyonder.co.uk or @virgin.net. If your Virgin Media Mail address ends with one of these domains, you need to update the security settings on all devices that access your email to make sure your Virgin Media Mail address continues to work with apps like Microsoft Outlook, Mozilla Thunderbird, iPhone email or Android email.
If you only access Virgin Media Mail through a web browser such as Google Chrome or Internet Explorer, or you have a Virgin Media Mail address that ends in @virginmedia.com then this already has the improved security, so you don’t need to make any changes, and don’t need to follow any of the advice in this help article.
What do I need to do?
Please make sure the server settings in your email app match the settings at Email Settings for all Virgin Media domains. This applies for POP, IMAP and SMTP server settings.
You'll need to know your Virgin Media Mail password when updating your settings. If you're not sure what it is, see How to change your email password for details on how to update or reset your password.
