How do I update my Virgin Media Mail settings in Windows 10 Mail?

 

Please make sure the server settings in Mail in Windows 10 match the settings at Email Settings for all Virgin Media domains. This applies for POP, IMAP and SMTP server settings.

If you need some help with changing your settings, we’ve put together some help.

To find out whether you’re using POP or IMAP:

  1. Open Mail
  2. Select Settings
  3. Select Manage Accounts
  4. Select your Virgin Media Mail account
  5. Select Change Mailbox sync settings
  6. Select Advanced mailbox settings

The Incoming Mail Server will say either POP or IMAP depending on your set up. Follow the appropriate instructions below to update your settings.

To update your POP Server settings:

  1. Open Mail
  2. Select Settings
  3. Select Manage Accounts
  4. Select your Virgin Media Mail account
  5. Select Change Mailbox sync settings
  6. Select Advanced mailbox settings
  7. Find Sync options

  8. Update Incoming email server to:
    • pop3.virginmedia.com
  9. Update Outgoing (SMTP) email server to:
    • smtp.virginmedia.com
  10. Make sure the following are ticked:
    • Outgoing server requires authentication
    • Use the same username and password for sending email
    • Require SSL for incoming email
    • Require SSL for outgoing email

  11. Select Done
  12. Select Save to use your new email settings

To update your IMAP Server settings:

  1. Open Mail
  2. Select Settings
  3. Select Manage Accounts
  4. Select your Virgin Media Mail account
  5. Select Change Mailbox sync settings
  6. Select Advanced mailbox settings
  7. Find Sync options

  8. Update Incoming email server to:
    • imap.virginmedia.com
  9. Update Outgoing (SMTP) email server to:
    • smtp.virginmedia.com
  10. Make sure the following are ticked:
    • Outgoing server requires authentication
    • Use the same username and password for sending email
    • Require SSL for incoming email
    • Require SSL for outgoing email
