Virgin Media and O2 have joined forces.

Supercharged data & broadband speeds: Double your mobile data for every eligible O2 Pay Monthly plan in your name, in your household (if you don’t take or already have unlimited O2 mobile data) and get a broadband speed boost to the next available level (if you aren’t already on the fastest speeds you can get in your area).
 

Supercharged connectivity: If you find any WiFi blackspots at home, you can get up to three blackspot-busting WiFi Pods at no extra cost when you get Intelligent WiFi Plus. And you can whizz around the world using your phone in 27 destinations, with O2 Travel Inclusive Zone. All so you can enjoy more connected moments, inside and out.

(Intelligent WiFi Plus service is usually £5 per month, available at no extra cost for Gig1 and Ultimate Oomph customers as well as customers of both Virgin Media and O2 with Volt benefits. O2 Travel Inclusive Zone included for each eligible O2 Pay Monthly sim in the Virgin Media account holder’s name and address. Still a bit stuck when it comes to the brilliant benefits of our Volt packages? Let’s break it down further so you can see whether you qualify, what benefits you qualify for and how you can get them…

To enjoy exclusive Volt benefits, you need to have or sign up to a Virgin Media broadband service and an eligible O2 Pay Monthly plan in your name, in your household. Depending on the kind of package you have, we can then activate your Volt benefits accordingly.

If you are an existing Virgin Media broadband customer who already has an eligible O2 Pay Monthly plan, you will need to visit your My O2 online account to unlock your Volt benefits for both your Virgin Media and O2 services.

If you already have or are signing up to Virgin Media broadband and an eligible O2 Pay Monthly plan, then you can get double the data on every eligible O2 Pay Monthly plan in your name, in your household. Please note that if you already have unlimited data on your O2 plan, the benefit cannot be applied.

If you already have or are signing up to Virgin Media broadband and an eligible O2 Pay Monthly plan, then you can get a broadband speed boost up to the next available level (if you aren’t already on the fastest speeds you can get in your area at the point you place your order to become supercharged with Volt). Please note that if you already have Gig1 broadband or you are already receiving the fastest speeds you can get in your area, then the benefit cannot be applied.

If you are experiencing coverage issues in your home, we can help you do the diagnostics checks over the phone that’ll enable you to get a WiFi Pod when you sign up for Intelligent WiFi Plus. Just call 0800 064 3836* and one of our agents will be happy to help.

Intelligent WiFi Plus is available if you have a Hub 3 or Hub 4 with enhanced firmware features. If you are experiencing WiFi blackspots, you will receive 1 WiFi Pod when you order Intelligent WiFi Plus, with up to 2 extra WiFi Pods available on further assessment

If you already have or are signing up to a Virgin Media broadband service and an eligible O2 Pay Monthly plan in your name, in your household, you can roam in the O2 Travel Inclusion Zone, which includes 120 minutes, 120 texts and data roaming in 27 selected destinations.

There’s no upper use limit on data, but traffic management steps will apply. If you go over your allowance, you’ll pay the standard international roaming rates for the country you’re roaming in. Calls and texts to premium rate numbers and other special numbers are not included.

After you sign up for a Volt package with both Virgin Media and O2, it can take up to 14 days for your Volt benefits to be applied.

If you haven’t received your Volt benefits after that, make sure...

1.    You’re the account holder of both your Virgin Media and O2 services.

If you’re not the account holder, you won't be eligible for Volt benefits.

2.    Your account holder name is the same on both your Virgin Media and your O2 accounts.

If they’re not, your Volt benefits can’t be applied. If you need to change the name on your Virgin Media account, you can find out how to do that here. If you want to change the name on your O2 account, you’ll need to contact O2.

3.    Your address is the same on both your Virgin Media and your O2 accounts.

Again, if they’re not, your Volt benefits can’t be applied. The address on your Virgin Media account will be the address that your Virgin Media services have been installed. If you need to, you can update the address on your O2 account online by signing in to My O2.

Priority used to be for O2 customers only. But since we buddied up with O2, Priority’s now available to everyone with Virgin Media broadband, too.

You can access Priority through the Priority app or Priority online. The first time you visit, O2 will ask you to register your details so they can confirm you have an O2 number or a Virgin Media broadband account. 

You’ll also have the opportunity to turn on settings like location services. That way you can see nearby rewards and perks at any time – and O2 will even text you when there’s something around the corner they think you’ll like.

 

The legal stuff

Volt benefits: Volt benefits available if you have or sign up to both a Virgin Media broadband service and an eligible O2 Pay Monthly tariff. Volt benefits include

(1)Virgin Media broadband speed boost to the next available level (if you don’t take or already have the fastest  Virgin Media speeds available to you in your area  at the point you place your order to become supercharged with Volt)

(2) Intelligent WiFi Plus at no extra cost (if you find any WiFi blackspots in your home and then choose to take Intelligent WiFi Plus as an optional add-on from Virgin Media, subject to stock availability)

(3) Double the O2 mobile data for each eligible O2 Pay Monthly Mobile SIMS in the Virgin Media account holder’s name in your household (if you don’t take or already have unlimited O2 mobile data)

(4) O2 Travel Inclusive Zone so you can roam in 75 destinations 

(5) If you take out a phone on a new O2 Custom Plan, you’ll get up to £150 off an O2 Custom Plan for a connected device. Benefits applied following purchase that fulfils eligibility criteria. Existing eligible customers must place order to unlock Volt benefits via My O2. Volt benefits applied up to 14 days following order (or up to 14 days following Virgin Media installation for existing eligible O2 customers purchasing Virgin Media broadband). Check Virgin Media broadband speeds availability at www.virginmedia.com/join/availability. O2 Pay Monthly sim: The minutes and texts included in your tariff can be used in the UK and when roaming in our Europe Zone subject to our Fair Use Policy. Inclusive minutes can be used for calls to standard landlines and mobiles, but not special numbers (see the below table for more details). Picture messages will cost you an extra 65p per message. When travelling within our Europe Zone, if your UK monthly data allowance is over 25GB you’ll have a Roaming Limit of 25GB. After this you’ll be charged £3.50 per GB until you use up your monthly UK data allowance, you return to the UK or you reach your next bill cycle.
