Procurement Information

Introduction

Virgin Media provides four multi award-winning services: broadband, TV, mobile phone and home phone across the UK & Ireland. Virgin Media is a subsidiary of Liberty Global plc, the world's largest international cable company.

Our Procurement department is responsible for sourcing and procuring a wide range of goods and services including set top boxes and customer/home products, network services, corporate/infrastructure services, professional services, IT & technology, telecoms, marketing and facilities management.

Virgin Media also has a specialised team who look after the purchase of our TV content and another team who are dedicated to and responsible for acquiring and managing of all third party voice interconnection, access, transit & backbone services.

We partner closely with our business stakeholders to understand and service their requirements.  In turn, we look to our suppliers to be proactive, innovative and drive improved products and services, value for money, risk reduction and transparency in our dealings.

In addition, we work with our key suppliers to attain and maintain our strategic and competitive advantage.  The tool we use to realise this is Executive Business Reviews, which comprise joint meetings of VM executives, supplier executives and Procurement.  These meetings enable us to promote innovation, partnership and value generation for all parties.

Executive Business Reviews are undertaken periodically with key suppliers to align strategies.  These meetings enable us to build stronger relationships with key suppliers that, amongst other things, promote identification, assessment and management of key risks.
