How will you be supported if something goes wrong? How easy is it to get information or have an issue resolved? Many providers have teams to help support you if there are issues with your connection, and some offer premium support if you need extra help.

Contract length

Find out how long you are committed to the deal you are looking at. A standard length of contract is usually around 18 months and when this period ends, you’ll usually be moved onto a 30-day rolling contract. At this point it’s easier to start looking for another provider if you see a better deal, or you’re unhappy with the service. It’s also worth checking if there are any penalties for leaving your service during the initial contracted period.

Cost

You’ll want the best broadband service you can get for your money, but make sure you look past the initial price you’ll pay. Many broadband and TV packages will go up in price after a period of time. Also, make sure you understand if there are any set up fees that will be added to your first bill to avoid any surprises when it lands.

Aside from having a reliable internet connection, you’ll also want to know what TV and entertainment options are available. It’s great having access to hundreds of channels, but if you’re only interested in a select few, you may as well as find a specific deal to suit you.
