Lacing up to deliver big plans in 2018

Fresh from his knighthood, four time Olympic champion Sir Mo Farah joins Virgin Media as the man charged with helping the company to go the extra mile for our customers and employees.

In his new role as Director of Going the Extra Mile, Mo is already putting his best foot forward and immersing himself in life at Virgin Media - meeting employees, learning the ropes and of course, joining our running club.

Mo has already visited Virgin Media’s Hammersmith office for his induction closely followed with a visit to the Peterborough office to speak to employees and join the team run club.

Jeff Dodds, Managing Director of Virgin Mobile said:

> Mo’s qualities align with those of our own business. His dedication, determination and tenacity have taken him to the very top of world sport, and he constantly (and quite literally) goes the extra mile to ensure success.

Mo will be working across all areas of Virgin Media, and particularly Virgin Mobile spending some time getting to know our people, meeting our customers and telling his story.

Going the extra mile is something we do well in Virgin Media and we’re lacing up to deliver some big plans for 2018. We can’t wait to get Mo involved. We’re very excited to welcome Sir Mo Farah back into the Virgin Media family.

Sir Mo Farah said:

> I recently announced that next year I will be moving back to the UK with my family to focus on marathon running. I’m extremely proud of what I’ve achieved during the first phase of my career, but I’m also looking forward to adding to that success during the second phase!

As if one challenge isn’t enough, when Tom [Mockridge, Virgin Media CEO] and Jeff talked to me about working with Virgin Mobile as the Director of Going the Extra Mile, I jumped at the chance. I have always admired the Virgin Media brand and what is stands for and enjoyed working with them in 2012 so it’s great to be back working with lots of the same people and the company again.
