The supernatural comes to Virgin Media with Outcast

27th May 2016

Hold on to your rotating heads. On 7th June at 10pm a touch of demonic possession will be levitating its way to Virgin Media in the form of a new supernatural 10-part horror series called Outcast.

Switching zombies for demons, Outcast is based on the ongoing comic series with the same name created by the visionary Robert Kirkman – the guy that brought us The Walking Dead and Fear the Walking Dead. The show, developed by Fox International Channels and Circle of Confusion, stars Philip Glenister (Life on Mars), Patrick Fugit (Gone Girl), Reg E. Cathey (House of Cards) and Wrenn Schmidt (Boardwalk Empire) – the sort of stellar cast that will make you want to climb the walls in anticipation.

Set in the sleepy town of Rome, West Virginia, the series follows Kyle Barnes, a young man who has been plagued by demonic possession all his life. Now, with the help of the Reverend Anderson, a preacher with personal demons of his own, Kyle embarks on a journey to find answers and regain the normal life he lost. With clear references to the holy grail of possession cinema, The Exorcist, the show is gritty and terrifying, yet gripping, in the way we’ve come to expect, and love, from Kirkman.

For Virgin Media Outcast is not just another TV show, it’s part of a bigger picture - to bring fresh, immersive programming to our customers.

It is our ambition to work with producers and programme makers to bring some of the biggest shows on the planet onto our platform.  We love edgy, gripping stories with exciting talent, a strong genre and characters with real depth. Outcast ticks all of these boxes.

And to leave you on a cliff hanger, there’s much more TV excitement to come this year with more new programming, a revamped TV platform and a new set-top box. It’s a powerful force that’s going to take over your living rooms.

Outcast will air on Tuesday 7th June at 10pm on Fox (Virgin Media Channel 157 or 199 for Fox HD).
