Virgin Media adds VICE TV to its platform

20 July 2018

VICE TV to launch on Virgin TV (Channel 219) from 21st July 2018

Virgin TV is adding VICE TV to its platform from 21st July and will be available for all customers.

This means that viewers will be able to choose from a wide range of VICE’s original programming which showcases international and locally-produced UK premieres. Current and upcoming channel highlights include: My House, a documentary series that follows a group of dynamic dancers who give an insider’s guide to New York’s house and ball scene; The Trixie and Katya Show, where drag icons Trixie and Katya examine life’s most important issues from love and sex, to fear and death; and The Ice Cream Show, a debut series which follows third generation ice-cream maker Isaac Lappert as he discovers the USA’s best ice-cream.

The channel also features original UK productions, including one-off investigative documentary, To Catch a Cat Killer, which explored the infamous spate of feline murders across south London and premiered on all VICE platforms including linear TV and digital platforms; comedian Jamali Maddix’s exploration of extremist groups and controversial figures in Hate Thy Neighbour; and the upcoming Code of Silence which offers an in-depth and emotive look at the “wall of silence” that surrounds the knife crime epidemic.

To watch VICE TV, Virgin TV customers can do so on channel 219.

David Bouchier, Chief Digital Entertainment Officer at Virgin Media, said: “We are delighted to be bringing VICE to Virgin TV as we believe its diverse range of shows will really appeal to our youth audience. This is another exciting addition to Virgin TV’s lineup as we continue to expand our customer offering with even more of the best programming from around the world.”

CJ Fahey, General Manager, VICE TV & Studios, EMEA, commented: “2018 has already been an exciting year for VICE in the UK, as we continue in our commitment to deliver our youth-focused, original content to audiences everywhere. We are looking forward to working in partnership with Virgin Media in bringing our content to their customers and we are delighted to be able to showcase our programming to a host of new viewers.”
