Virgin Media Business leaves rivals in dust with 350Mbps as standard

20th April 2017

Introducing Voom Fibre, ultrafast broadband for small businesses

Virgin Media Business, with the launch of Voom Fibre, raises the bar for business broadband with a speed boost up to 350Mbps as standard – more than four times faster than the equivalent speeds offered by its rivals.

From May 2nd new and existing business customers will be eligible to receive ultrafast download speeds of up to 350Mbps as standard, and will be able to choose a range of additional options to suit their needs including increased upload speeds and support options.

With Voom Fibre, businesses will have a choice of three price plans and upload speeds, with a number of bolt-ons and discounts on additional services to help them tailor the product to their specific business needs. Prices start from £30 per month, with two additional options priced at £40 and £55 per month.

Peter Kelly, Managing Director of Virgin Media Business, said: “We have for many years now been the champions of small business, in particular entrepreneurs, through both our VOOM Competition platform and our Pioneers Community.  With the launch of Voom Fibre we want to unleash every small business by providing the digital backbone they need for their business.

“For UK small business to thrive in this evolving digital economy they should have the technical ability and capacity in place so they can focus on development and growth, we are removing a barrier and enabling them to fulfil their digital potential - offering them all the speed they need to achieve success.”

“Today we are putting a huge challenge to the market to do better.  Our standard speed is now more than four times faster than our competitors’ fastest broadband product and we encourage them to match us to enable and benefit small businesses and the UK economy.”

Supporting small businesses beyond ultrafast broadband

The best way to small business success is through connecting with other like-minded peers, so Virgin Media Business, through socialising and developing our community will help to connect as many of the 5.4 million UK small businesses as possible.

The community will be a UK-wide network of seekers and providers of advice, where a geo-located platform will enable entrepreneurs to share, co-create and collaborate with other small business owners in their local area.

Peter Kelly said: “Entrepreneurship and endeavour requires more than a fast broadband connection. It requires ongoing support and a community of like-minded individuals to nurture and accelerate entrepreneurship into the future.

“We are passionate about seeing businesses grow and be the best they can be, so we’re creating a community made up of entrepreneurial dreamers through to established small business owners who will be able to connect with like-minded professionals.”
