Virgin Media customers receive exclusive Destiny 2 in-game loot

30 August 2017

‘Athena Victorious’ Sparrow available from 6 September

Virgin Media customers who have ultrafast Virgin Fibre broadband can kick off their Destiny 2 campaign in style thanks to exclusive* in-game loot which will be unlocked when the game launches on 6 September on PS4 and Xbox One, and PC on 24 October.

From Activision and Bungie; Destiny 2 is one of this year’s most hotly anticipated games. Featuring a cinematic story campaign, the last safe city on Earth has fallen and lays in ruins, occupied by Dominus Ghaul and his elite army, the Red Legion. Every player creates their own character called a ‘Guardian’, humanity’s chosen protectors. As a Guardian, players must master new abilities and weapons to reunite the city’s forces, stand together and fight back to reclaim their home.

As part of Virgin Media’s partnership with Activision and Bungie, the company’s fibre broadband customers will be able to speed through the Destiny 2 universe with a unique Sparrow vehicle to use in-game across all available platforms.

The Sparrow will be known as ‘Athena Victorious’ and is a single-passenger, all-terrain thrust bike with one purpose: moving from objective to objective with unmatched speed. Quick, quiet, and simple to transmat, Sparrows enjoy surpassing popularity among Guardians working in the field.

Customers will be able to get their hands on the Sparrow with a special code from Virgin Media’s website, virginmedia.com/redeemsparrow, from the game’s launch.

Kerris Bright, Chief Marketing Officer at Virgin Media, said:

> “With our ultrafast Virgin Fibre broadband and exclusive Sparrow, Athena Victorious, Virgin Media customers will have an unparalleled Destiny 2 gameplay experience.\n> \n> \n> “Our customers can take their Destiny 2 campaign to the next level right from the start and explore the game’s universe at lightning-fast speed.”

Last month, Virgin Media hosted a special UK gameplay event to celebrate the arrival of the Destiny 2 Beta. Virgin Fibre x Destiny 2: The Beta Experience gave customers early hands-on-access to the Destiny 2 Beta on PlayStationâ 4.
