Virgin Media still the cheapest place to watch all of the football

21 February 2020

  • Virgin Media’s Bigger + Sports bundle costs just £65 per month and includes all Sky Sports and BT Sport channels – £108 cheaper than Sky over the duration of 12 months
  • Football fans can watch Premier League, UEFA Champions League and Europa League on Sky Sports, BT Sport and Amazon Prime Video in one place
  • Virgin Media bundles come loaded with ultrafast connectivity – perfect for streaming matches online

Virgin Media remains the true home of televised football and fans can net a saving of more than £100 a year when compared to Sky and BT’s bundles.

Consumers, like footballers, need to make the right move and a switch to Virgin Media right now is the right one for football fans – it will also save you plenty of money.

Despite Sky and BT’s restructure of its TV packages for its dedicated sports channels, Virgin Media has already been offering its customers the convenience of single billing and the ability to watch Sky Sports and BT Sport – including its dedicated 4k BT Sport Ultimate channel – via its Bigger + Sports bundle.

The Bigger + Sports bundle, currently priced at just £65 per month for new customers, comes loaded with ultrafast broadband of 100Mbps which means customers can stream matches on multiple devices throughout the home.

Sky’s similar offering (£74 per month over 18 months) means fans have to fork out £108 extra a year and those looking for a more expensive move to BT (£84.99 per month over 24 months) would spend £239.88 extra a year.

David Bouchier, Chief Digital Entertainment Officer at Virgin Media, said: “Virgin Media started the season by offering the cheapest and most convenient way to watch all of the football in one place and that’s still the case with our incredible Bigger + Sports bundle.”

BT Sport in 4K Ultra HD and Amazon Prime Video on Virgin Media

With Virgin Media, football fans can watch BT Sport’s Premier League and UEFA Champions League and Europa League matches in 4K Ultra HD - currently unavailable on Sky.

Also missing from Sky’s line up but upfront on Virgin Media is the Amazon Prime Video app which will allow fans to watch Amazon’s Premier League fixtures next season.

And with Virgin Media’s ultrafast broadband connectivity, football fans can stream multiple matches in confidence while other family members never need to worry about gaming, streaming or video chatting at the same time.
