Our Manchester sites; City House and Concorde House have been doing some fantastic work to raise money for charity during 2014.
That's why we were really pleased when representatives from The Christie Hospital come down to City House to present us with two cheques for all the money we have raised for them - totalling an amazing £13,467.17!
This fantastic amount has been raised for The Christie from both of our Manchester sites; City House and Concorde House and is testament to all the hard work of my colleagues at the two sites.
The money raised will go to support various different activities within The Christie. City House specifically requested that the money they raised goes towards Therapeutic Art Sessions which help children affected by cancer to cope with the life changing events surrounding the disease. The amount raised by City House will fund nearly 10 sessions, which is something City House are incredibly proud of as a centre!
Some of the activities that have gone on throughout 2014 to fundraise for The Christie include:
The Christie is one of Europe’s leading cancer centres, treating over 40,000 patients a year. They are also an international leader for research, with world first breakthroughs for over 100 years.
The Christie was first established in 1901 through generous donations and fundraising has continued to support vital development for more than a century. The charity helps to pay for cancer research, new facilities, high-tech equipment and extra patient services – helping cancer patients both cope with and survive cancer.
