Virgin Media Pioneers and Voom join forces

11 May 2017

On 2 May Virgin Media Business made Voom Fibre, which provides broadband speeds of up to 350Mbps, available to its customers. As part of its commitment to make UK businesses voom Virgin Media Business simultaneously launched Voom Pitch – the UK and Ireland’s biggest pitching competition.

The launch of Voom Pitch sees Virgin Media Pioneers become Voom Pioneers - a community where entrepreneurs, business founders and managers can help their businesses make expert connections and gain peer-to-peer support and unique opportunities. Voom Pioneers will ensure that the benefits of the competition are enjoyed by more than just the winners and that they continue long after competition finishes.

Virgin Media Pioneers was created in 2010 to help small business get going and start growing. It now has more than 14,000 members and gave birth to Pitch to Rich, which we now call Voom Pitch.

Voom Pitch provides business owners and entrepreneurs the opportunity to pitch a business idea to Sir Richard Branson and win a share of a £1 million prize fund. In 2017 the competition is being supercharged by the Voom Tour, a bus that is touring the UK and Ireland, taking regional pitches to local communities.

Bringing together Pioneers and Voom will further strengthen the existing community whilst ensuring social impact sits at the heart of the Voom competition. This is central to Virgin Media’s long standing commitment to ensure that the power of connectivity benefits the communities that we serve.
