Virgin Media entrepreneurs in the fast lane at Formula E

1st July 2016

Since 2015 Virgin Media has sponsored the FIA Formula E racing event. This year’s event is taking place in Battersea Park and, after receiving a sprinkling of Virgin Media sponsorship magic, will have the edition of some brilliant entrepreneurs from the Virgin Media Pioneers community.

Virgin Media Pioneers is a social impact programme that aims to help small businesses in the UK grow through digital with an online platform and offline opportunities. The newly refurbished website, which is driven by the Pioneers community, offers a strong peer to peer network through its forum, as well as advice and news content.

Collaborating with Formula E this year has provided a huge opportunity for two lucky Pioneers, who will both be included within the catering for this year’s guests.

Here’s more about the two Pioneer businesses that are taking part:

B- tempted: Pioneer Sarah Hilleary runs her own gluten-free luxury bakery with a team of three. She creates an award-winning range of brownies and friands that are suitable for wheat and gluten intolerances. Sarah is based in East London, but her treats are available from some of the Capitals most iconic stores including Harrods, Selfridges and Fortnum and Mason. Formula E guests in the VIP enclosure will be able to enjoy Sarah’s treats as part of the lunch time buffet.

Bar on a Bike: Bar on a Bike is run by husband and wife team Pam and Simon. After putting together their PR and marketing skills they wanted to create something that united their love of mixology and vintage objects – a bar dressed up as a bike! Bar on a Bike will set up shop within the Customer Zone at Formula E as a drinks vendor selling to the 700 customers there.
