How To Top Up Virgin Mobile Pay As You Go

Virgin Mobile pay as you go plans are designed to give you freedom and control over how much you spend on your phone. To give you even more control, we also have several different ways to top up Virgin Mobile phone credit, so you can choose a method that’s right for you and your lifestyle.


You can top up Virgin Mobile accounts online using a debit or credit or debit card.

Step 1. Log into your Virgin Media Mobile Account

Step 2. Select Register your Credit/Debit Card

Once you have registered your card, you can save the information to your account so you can top up Virgin Mobile phones registered to you quickly and easily online or through the My Virgin Media app. With a card registered to your account you can also top up your phone by text if for any reason you don’t have access to the internet. To do so, complete the following steps:

Step 1. Compose a new text using your Virgin Mobile phone to 789222

Step 2. Type the amount you would like to top up (between £5-£50 in denominations of £5)

Step 3. Type the last 4 digits of the card number registered to your account

Step 4. Type the last 3 digits of the security code on the back of the card (or the last 4 digits if you have an American Express card)

Step 5. Make sure there is a space between each of the different sets of numbers. It should look something like this: 10 9876 321

Step 6. Send the text at no cost. We will text you back to let you know when your account has been topped up.

To save time, save 789222 to your phone’s contacts so you can quickly top up by text when you’re on the go.
 



How to top up Virgin Mobile on the high street

You can purchase Virgin Mobile top up vouchers at selected stores from the till. These come as a printed receipt which includes a unique voucher PIN. Once you have your PIN, you can top up by texting your PIN to 789111, or by calling 789 on your Virgin Media mobile.

If you find yourself buying top up vouchers regularly, you might find it easier to grab a Virgin Mobile Top Up card. This card links directly to your account, so when you purchase credit, you don’t need to go through the hassle of texting codes or phoning anyone. Your credit will go directly to your account, and you can purchase from as little as £5 to as much as £100 any time.

You can order your E-Top Up card on our website by logging into your Virgin Mobile account and registering your phone. Once you receive your card, you can use your E-Top Up card at the till of selected stores to top up your credit instantly. Simply let the store assistant know how much credit you would like, pay as your normally would, and your phone will be topped up without the hassle of vouchers or PINS.

You can get Virgin Mobile top up cards online directly from us. To do so, simply sign into your Virgin Mobile account and register your phone with us. Order a free card from your online account and we’ll send it directly to you. As well as ordering an E-Top Up card, you can do a lot of cool things from your account, including checking your recent usage, keeping an eye on your credit, and managing your services.

To activate a voucher, simply text your voucher’s unique PIN to 789111 and we will transfer the credit to your account. Alternatively, you can give us a call on 789 using your Virgin Mobile phone and give us your unique PIN over the phone.

The easiest way to top up Virgin Mobile phones belonging to friends or family is by purchasing a Virgin Mobile top up voucher. They can redeem the voucher themselves by using their phone to text the voucher’s unique PIN to 789111 or by calling us on 789

If for any reason the person is unable to redeem the voucher on their phone, you can still use the voucher to top up their account for them by following these steps:

Step 1. Purchase a Virgin Mobile top up voucher from one of our selected stores

Step 2. Use your phone to call us on 789 if you are calling from a Virgin Mobile phone or call us on 0345 600 0789* from any other phone. 

Step 3. Answer the questions of our interactive voice menu to reach the menu to redeem your voucher and top up.

Step 4. When asked if you want the phone you are using to be topped up, select No 

Step 5. When prompted, provide the phone number of the mobile phone you would like to top up.

Once your friend or family’s phone number has been confirmed, the credit you purchased will go to their account.

You can manage your Virgin Mobile automated top ups through your online Virgin Mobile account or through the My Virgin Media app. Simply log in to your account and visit your Virgin Mobile settings to change the amount of your recurring top up or cancel automatic top ups entirely.

Pay As You Go customers can use their phone in over 100 countries worldwide. You can top up Virgin Mobile accounts from anywhere in the world, but the methods available to you will depend on where you are.
