Meet the comedians of Last One Laughing Season 2

Ten comedians, six hours and one rule: don’t laugh. Last One Laughing Season 2 brings together a brilliant lineup of comic talent to test their self-control in the ultimate straight-face challenge. Meet the cast stepping into the comedic chaos

Last One Laughing takes a brilliantly simple idea and turns it into pure comedy chaos: whatever you do… don’t laugh. A room full of comedians are challenged to make each other crack up using sketches, characters, jokes and increasingly ridiculous antics, all while keeping a perfectly straight face themselves. The moment someone laughs, they get a warning. Laugh again, and they’re out.

Watching every smirk, snort and barely contained giggle are hosts Jimmy Carr and Roisin Conaty, who keep a close eye on the action from the control room. As the pranks get wilder and the pressure builds, staying serious becomes nearly impossible. In the end, only one comedian can hold it together long enough to be crowned the last one laughing.

Ready to meet your contestants? Here's everything you need to know about this year's cast and who's most likely to take the last one laughing trophy.

Alan Carr

Best known for: Chatty Man and The Celebrity Traitors

Alan Carr’s infectious laugh and high-energy comedy style have made him a household name. From hosting Chatty Man and winning the first series of The Celebrity Traitors, to appearing across countless panel shows, Carr thrives in unpredictable situations. The big question is whether he can resist laughing when surrounded by some of the UK’s funniest people.

Bob Mortimer

Best known for: Reeves and Mortimer

Few comedians have a more unpredictable comic mind than Bob Mortimer. Known for his wonderfully surreal humour on shows like Would I Lie to You?, Mortimer thrives on the unexpected, which enabled him to be crowned champion in the first season. His ability to derail a room with the strangest stories imaginable makes him both a dangerous opponent and a prime target for the other contestants. If anyone can keep a straight face while causing absolute chaos, it’s Bob.

David Mitchell

Best known for: Peep Show

Best known for starring in Peep Show, David Mitchell has built a reputation on razor-sharp wit and gloriously exasperated rants. His intellectual style of comedy might seem perfect for keeping composure, but the absurd environment of Last One Laughing could push even Mitchell to his comedic breaking point.

Diane Morgan

Best known for: Playing the iconic Philomena Cunk

Diane Morgan’s deadpan delivery has made her a comedy favourite, especially through her iconic character Philomena Cunk from Cunk on Earth and Cunk on Life. Her ability to keep a perfectly straight face while delivering ridiculous lines could make her a serious contender, assuming the other comedians don’t crack her first.

Romesh Ranganathan

Best known for: The Misadventures of Romesh Ranganthan

With his trademark grumpy persona and sharp observational humour, Romesh Ranganathan is one of the UK’s most recognisable comedians. Whether through stand-up specials or TV hits like The Misadventures of Romesh Ranganathan and Rob & Romesh Vs…, his dry reactions and quick comebacks make him a formidable presence in the room – one that is sure to make him a contender in this season.

Mel Giedroyc

Best known for: the Mel and Sue duo

Mel Giedroyc is beloved for her warm, upbeat humour and quick improvisational skills. Many viewers will know her from hosting The Great British Bake Off, but she’s also a seasoned comedy performer. Her cheerful personality could either help her stay relaxed, or make her the first to crack.

Maisie Adam

Best known for: Urban Myths

Maisie Adam has become a familiar face on the UK comedy circuit thanks to her energetic storytelling and appearances on panel shows like Mock the Week. Her playful humour and competitive streak might give her the edge in a game that rewards creativity and composure.

Sam Campbell

Best known for: Winning best show award at Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2022

Sam Campbell is known for his wonderfully weird, off-beat comedy style. After winning fans with his unpredictable performances – including victory on Season 16 of Taskmaster – Campbell arrives ready to unleash some truly bizarre tactics to make his rivals laugh.

Gbemisola Ikumelo

Best known for: Writing and producing Famalam and Brain in Gear

BAFTA-winning performer Gbemisola Ikumelo blends character comedy with sharp satire. Known for creating and starring in Famalam, she brings a unique comedic voice to the lineup and could easily surprise the competition. Can she put her best female comedic performance award to her advantage and make the others laugh before they get to her?

Amy Gledhill

Best known for: Winning Best Comedy show at Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2024

Amy Gledhill is one of the most exciting rising stars in British stand-up. With an endearing storytelling style and delightfully quirky humour, she’s known for winning audiences over with unexpected punchlines. In a room full of seasoned comedians, she could be the wildcard who outlasts them all.

Your Last One Laughing Season 2 Hosts

Jimmy Carr

Best known for: TV Panel Show Hosting

As the mastermind overseeing the madness, Jimmy Carr returns to host Last One Laughing with his signature sharp wit and perfectly timed one-liners. From the control room, Carr monitors every twitch, smirk and suppressed giggle as the comedians attempt to break each other. Best known for hosting panel shows like 8 Out of 10 Cats and 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown, Carr is the perfect referee for a competition built entirely around comedy, especially when he gets to stir the pot along the way.

Roisin Conaty

Best Known For: Writing and starring in GameFace

Joining Jimmy Carr in the control room is comedian and actor Roisin Conaty, who brings her playful energy and mischievous humour to the show. Known for creating and starring in GameFace and appearing on panel favourites like Taskmaster, Conaty helps keep a close eye on the contestants as the tension builds. Whether she’s spotting a barely contained laugh or reacting to the increasingly ridiculous antics in the room, she adds plenty of fun to the behind-the-scenes commentary.

Who’s most likely to crack first?

That’s the million-pound question in Last One Laughing UK. With so many different comedy styles in the room, predicting who’ll laugh first is almost impossible. High-energy comedians like Alan Carr might struggle to keep a straight face, while masters of deadpan like Diane Morgan could quietly outlast the competition.

Then again, when the pranks get ridiculous and the tension builds, even the most composed comedians can crack. One thing’s certain: it won’t take long before someone does.
