Is there anything Romesh Ranganathan can’t do? A former maths teacher turned comedian, he first burst onto screens with chuckle-worthy sets on Live At The Apollo and his career has skyrocketed since. After succeeding on the comedy circuit, he took on telly gigs hosting Have I Got News For You, A League Of Their Own and The Weakest Link, as well as his own shows Rob & Romesh Vs… and The Ranganation. Then there’s his impressive foray into Hollywood where he’s worked alongside A-listers including Pierce Brosnan, Steve Carell and Idina Menzel.

Now, Romesh’s latest venture sees him take on his biggest challenge yet (although thankfully this one doesn’t involve setting himself on fire as a stunt double). In his travelogue series Romesh: Can’t Knock The Hustle, the star contemplates our hustle-obsessed modern existence and embarks on a global expedition to find out what all the fuss is about.

The show begins with exclusive material from Romesh’s debut arena tour Hustle, filmed at The O2 in London in May 2024. From there the comedic genius decides to “fact-check” the musings that he’s just delivered to a 250,000 strong audience, and thus Romesh: Can’t Knock The Hustle is born.

“Stand-ups often deliver a show completely unchecked by logic,” Romesh said. “We decided to film a series exploring what I’d said on stage and whether I was right. This show confirms the suspicion that I often don’t know what I’m talking about.” Er, better late than never, right?

Across four episodes, Romesh travels to India, USA, South Korea and Canada on his eye-opening pilgrimage, exploring the different cultures and approaches to nailing that work-life balance. Whether he’s attending a “happy factory”, meeting with millionaire thrill-seekers, starring in a Tamil movie, experiencing a living funeral or visiting a shaman for a transformative ritual, you can expect plenty of laughs along the way.

Can he prove any of his theories, or even better, figure out the key to modern life? There’s only one way to find out... Don’t miss Romesh: Can’t Knock The Hustle airing from 10pm on Tuesday 23 September on Sky Max HD (CH 111) and Sky Max on demand.

If you can’t wait for more material from Romesh than we have good news for you. From recording podcasts Hip Hop Saved My Life and Wolf & Owl and hosting his weekly BBC Radio 2 show to writing children’s books, a memoir and newspaper columns, you can bet that the star’s next project is never too far away. Until then, we’ve whittled down all the places you can catch the multi-talented man on your screens from the comfort of your sofa. Right this way…
