Kelly Clarkson: 'I am not Beyonce'
Kelly Clarkson thinks artists should be comfortable on stage Kelly Clarkson refuses to wear uncomfortable outfits on stage like Beyonce Knowles does.
The original 'American Idol' winner thinks that performers should be comfortable in front of their audience and not rely on outlandish ensembles to put on a good show.
She told People: ''I don't want to wear no stiletto. I am not a model and I am not Beyoncé. It is not going to happen.''
The 'What Doesn't Kill You (Stronger)' star added: ''This is such a funny industry. Sometimes I turn on awards shows and pop stars are wearing alien costumes. I'm like, 'That's cool for you but ain't no way in hell someone is going to convince me to wear that on stage.'''
Kelly continued to suggest that the music industry puts too much pressure on artists to conform.
She said: ''Not only can the music be formulaic, but the attire can be formulaic. Just like music, with style there is room for everything and it might not be everyone's cup of tea but it is that person's thing.''
Now Kelly is a mentor on American talent show, 'Duets', she revealed she wants to pass on her wisdom to contestant Jordan Meredith who she is coaching.
She shared: ''I need [Jordan] to be comfortable on stage and people are pushing her to wear something else and that is not our focus. Especially in a competition you need to be comfortable and confident.''
