Pick of the week
Rugby League – Hull Kingston Rovers v Warrington Wolves
Saturday 7 June, 2pm, BBC One HD (CH 101)
Hull KR haven’t won the Challenge Cup for 45 years – but they keep getting closer. In 2015 they were thrashed 50-0 in the final by Leeds. Two years ago it was a heartbreaking golden-point defeat to Leigh. This year they’ll arrive at Wembley as favourites, riding high in the Super League (with only one defeat all season) and having convincingly seen off Catalans Dragons 36-12 in the semi-final.
Their opponents are last year’s runners-up Warrington, who despite having a tough 2025 season – they’ve lost more Super League games than they’ve won – were impressive against Leigh in their semi-final. Veteran scrum-half Marc Sneyd, playing just over a fortnight after an eye socket fracture that required surgery, proved as reliably accurate as ever with four goals and a drop-goal to seal a 21-14 victory. You can never rule them out.
There’s full live coverage on BBC One on Saturday, with the women’s Challenge Cup final between Wigan and holders St Helens on BBC Two HD (CH 102) at 11.15am.

Pick of the week
Venom: The Last Dance
Available from Friday 6 June in Sky Cinema on demand. Cert 15
What do Tom Hardy and Stephen Graham have in common? Not only have they starred in some of the best TV shows of 2025 so far, but they also joined forces in the third instalment of the Venom superhero saga. Hardy reprises his role as Eddie Brock, a human journalist who is bound to alien symbiote Venom, and after Brock is named as the prime suspect for the apparent murder of former detective Patrick Mulligan (Graham) he goes on the run. That’s the least of his problems though, as hot on his tracks is a ferocious creature known as Xenophage who will do anything to get a codex to free supervillain Knull. Yikes! Chiwetel Ejiofor, Juno Temple and Rhys Ifans also star.
