Wednesday 3 June
Pick of the day
Cycling: Women’s UCI World Tour – Giro D’Italia Stage 5
2.30pm, TNT Sports 3 HD (CH 523)
The first mountain stage of this year’s Giro Femminile starts in Longarone, in the Dolomites directly north of Venice, and follows a 146km route to Santo Stefano di Cadore. It takes in some serious peaks along the way, including the Passo Tre Croci at over 1,800m and the Passo di Sant’Antonio, although the toughest section comes towards the end as the riders climb 363m in 4km on the way up to Costa. Australia’s Sarah Gigante was Queen of the Mountains last year and also came third in the overall classification.

Pick of the day
Cricket: England v New Zealand – 1st Men’s Test, Day 1
10am, Sky Sports Cricket HD (CH 505)
New Zealand were the first opponents for England head coach Brendon McCullum in 2022, and the era that would come to be known as “Bazball” got off to a flyer as England demonstrated versatility, resilience and flair to nail a 3-0 series victory. But a lot has changed since then, and England host the Black Caps at Lord’s in the wake of a comprehensive Ashes defeat. Change is needed, and Durham batter Emilio Gay replaces Zak Crawley in the opening slot, while seamer Ollie Robinson and spinner Shoaib Bashir have been recalled. Against tough opponents, we’re about to find out what the new-look England are made of.

Pick of the day
Golf: US Women’s Open, Round 2
7pm, Sky Sports Mix HD (CH 511)
After a quiet 2025 by her standards, US golfer Nelly Korda has roared back into form with a string of top-two finishes capped off by a major triumph at the Chevron Championship – a result that took her back to world number one. All of which will make her a strong favourite to claim another major (which would be her fourth) at the Riviera Club in California, and she’ll be especially determined to win after finishing runner-up last year, just two strokes behind Maja Stark. Other challengers include Thailand’s Jeeno Thitikul, Australia’s Hannah Green and Lydia Ko of New Zealand, with Charley Hull and 22-year-old Lottie Woad leading a strong English presence.

Pick of the day
Tennis: French Open At Roland-Garros – Women’s Singles Final
2pm, TNT Sports 1 HD (CH 524) + TNT Sports Ultimate (CH 525)
Seeds fell early in the 2026 women’s singles, with Elena Rybakina exiting in the second round, title holder Coco Gauff in the third and four-time champ Iga Świątek in the fourth. That means we’re going to get a first-time French Open winner, and at the time of writing top seed Aryna Sabalenka is the overwhelming favourite. She doesn’t have the greatest record on clay but she’s improving, having reached the 2025 final at Roland-Garros. Could someone emerge from the rounds to give Sabalenka a serious challenge? Don’t miss the final on TNT Sports, with the men’s singles final following on Sunday.

Sunday 7 June
Pick of the day
Motorsport: Formula One Monaco Grand Prix – Race
12.30pm, Sky Sports F1® HD (CH 507)
It’s glitzy and glamorous, but the Formula One drivers won’t be distracted by the surroundings of Monte Carlo; once they’re in their cars, they’ll be locked in for the race. (Plus many of them live there anyway, so it’s like going for a spin around the neighbourhood.) Mercedes’ George Russell had a great chance to cut into his team-mate Kimi Antonelli’s championship lead in Canada after winning the sprint race and qualifying on pole for the GP, but a power unit failure put paid to the British driver’s potential victory. He’ll be keen to do better in Monaco, where Antonelli struggled last year. Ferrari, McLaren and Red Bull all need to up their game if they’re not to be left behind.

Pick of the day
Tennis: Queen’s Club Championships
1pm, BBC Two HD (CH 102)
As the 2026 clay-court season ends, the grass-court leg arrives, and with it the mounting anticipation for Wimbledon, one of British sport’s crown jewels. The women’s edition of this tournament returned to Queen’s in 2025 for the first time since 1973 and produced a shock winner in unseeded 37-year-old Tatjana Maria, while on the men’s side, injury has forced champion Calros Alcaraz to withdraw and Jannik Sinner’s form is uncertain after his early French Open defeat. What does this tell us? It’s wide open, so tune in for live action on BBC Two each day this week (highlights in Apps > BBC iPlayer) to see who’s looking good ahead of the big one in SW19.

Tuesday 9 June
Pick of the day
Football: FIFA Women’s World Cup Qualifying – England v Ukraine
7.30pm, ITV1 HD (CH 103)
They’re double European champions, but that didn’t stop England being drawn in a tough World Cup qualifying group alongside holders Spain. However, Sarina Wiegman’s side have led from the start with four wins out of four, including a hard-fought 1-0 win over the champions at Wembley. After Saturday’s return match in Mallorca, topping the group and avoiding a play-off may hinge on this final game. The good news for England is that it’s in Liverpool against bottom team Ukraine, whom they beat 6-1 away with braces from Alessia Russo, Georgia Stanway and Jess Park. If all goes to plan this week, the Lionesses will book their place in Brazil.
