The start of a new year can only mean one thing... There’s a whole year’s worth of excellent sofa-based streaming entertainment to look forward to on Netflix. Leading the charge is returning favourite Bridgerton, while exciting new additions include Harlan Coben’s Run Away, Agatha Christie’s Seven Dials, The Rip, Take That and His & Hers. Plus, don’t miss the last of what 2025 has to offer, with the finale of Stranger Things 5, starry drama Goodbye June and wild stand-up show Ricky Gervais: Mortality.

Screen darling Kate Winslet (The Holiday) makes her directorial debut as well as starring in this soon-to-be classic Christmas drama with an incredible cast. When matriarch June (Helen Mirren, The Thursday Murder Club) falls ill over the festive season, her four adult children must come together and try to mend their fractured relationships under trying circumstances. Toni Collette (Wayward), Timothy Spall (The King’s Speech), Stephen Merchant (The Outlaws), Andrea Riseborough (Alice & Jack), Johnny Flynn (Emma) and Fisayo Akinade (Heartstopper) round off the ensemble.

If you couldn’t get tickets to this year’s hottest comedy tour, then we have good news for you. Following the astronomical success of his record-breaking stand-up show, comedy giant Ricky Gervais is bringing the sell-out set to the small screen. Described as “his most honest and personal show so far”, Mortality captures Gervais’s hilarious musings on the absurdities of life and death, all delivered with that signature barbed humour. Consider us seated.

The start of a new year of late seems to guarantee two things: resolutions and one of Harlan Coben’s thrilling mysteries on your screen. Following Missing You and Fool Me Once comes Run Away, inspired by Coben’s bestselling 2019 novel. The twisty tale follows patriarch Simon (James Nesbitt, Cold Feet) whose picture-perfect world comes tumbling down when his eldest daughter Paige (Ellie de Lange, The Serpent) runs away and falls into a life of crime. When he finds her again, the only way he can save her is to enter a dangerous underworld that threatens to tear his family apart. Ruth Jones (Gavin & Stacey), Minnie Driver (Good Will Hunting), Alfred Enoch (The Couple Next Door) and Jon Pointing (Big Boys) form a terrific cast.

In 2024 an ambitious sheriff single-handedly took rehabilitation to a new level at a US detention facility when the inmates of Pulaski County Jail were given the opportunity to experience prison life with “no locks and no officers”. This time around, camera crews are heading to a facility in Pinal County, Arizona, to capture another social experiment among prisoners as it unfolds under the watchful eyes of the newly elected Sheriff Teeple. Eye-opening stuff.

Jon Bernthal (The Bear) and Tessa Thompson (Hedda) are estranged spouses at war in this heart-racing psychological thriller. When a murder takes place in a sleepy US town, it quickly transpires that some of the locals have a connection to the case, including journalist Ana (Thompson) and Detective Jack Harper (Bernthal). As the investigation deepens, they both become determined to take control of the narrative after accusing each other of being a prime suspect. Gripping stuff.
People We Meet On Vacation

The wait is over for fans of Emily Henry’s New York Times bestselling novel (published in the UK as You And Me On Vacation. The heart-fluttering romcom is getting a screen adaptation, so pack your bags and get ready to follow your heart on a globetrotting adventure. Long-term besties Poppy (Emily Bader, My Lady Jane) and Alex (Tom Blyth, The Hunger Games: The Ballad Of Songbirds & Snakes) have spent every summer for the last decade on holiday together, and they’re beginning to question if there’s something more in store for them beyond friendship. Jameela Jamil (The Good Place), Lucien Lavsicount (Emily In Paris) and Lukas Gage (Euphoria) also star.
Agatha Christie’s Seven Dials

From Broadchurch creator Chris Chibnall comes the latest Agatha Christie screen adaptation for sofa sleuths to sink their teeth into. Set in 1925 in England, the three-part series follows BAFTA Rising Star Award winner Mia McKenna-Bruce (How To Have Sex) as Lady Eileen “Bundle” Brent, a young detective who’s determined to get to the bottom of a chilling murder disguised as a practical joke gone wrong. Helena Bonham Carter (One Life), Martin Freeman (The Responder), Corey Mylchreest (Queen Charlotte), Ed Bluemel (Sex Education) and Nabhaan Rizwan (KAOS) form a stellar supporting cast.

Hollywood heavyweights and bromance kings Matt Damon and Ben Affleck join forces for this gripping crime thriller from writer/director Joe Carnahan (Narc, Smokin’ Aces). Damon and Affleck are Miami cop partners who find themselves in a sticky situation when their team discovers $24 million in cash stashed away in a safe house. The catch? The cash can’t leave the premises until every last bill is accounted for, and the higher the stakes become, the more trust begins to crumble between the team. Steven Yeun (Mickey 17), Kyle Chandler (Godzilla Vs Kong) and Teyana Taylor (One Battle After Another) co-star.

You’re cordially invited back into the gilded world of fascination and fascinators with the arrival of Bridgerton’s long-awaited fourth season. When ballroom wallflower Benedict Bridgerton (Luke Thompson) becomes besotted with a mysterious lady in silver at a masquerade ball, he makes it his mission along with sister Eloise (Claudia Jesse) to uncover her true identity. Unbeknown to him and the rest of society, she’s a resourceful maid named Sophie (Yerin Ha, Halo), which means that Benedict could be forced to choose between his head and his heart. How to watch Netflix with Virgin TV
If you have our 360 or Stream box, there are four ways to navigate to the Netflix app:
1. Use your voice
A. Just press and hold the voice button and say “Netflix” to open the app.
2. Via the app section
A. Press Home.
B. Go to the right and select Apps.
C. Select Netflix in the Apps screen.
3. Via channel 204 if you have our 360 box
A. Tuning to this channel automatically launches Netflix.
4. Navigating down to the Netflix icon in the homepage if you have our Stream box
To search for Netflix content on our 360 and Stream boxes, select the Search icon from any full screen menu. Enter your Search term using the on-screen keyboard. Press back and then right to highlight the “All” filter. Press OK and select Netflix. You can now view and select from the Netflix results for your search term.
